The Life Unlimited Foundation was established in 2011. A percentage of both the price of each Experience and commissions payable to agents is donated to the Foundation to support conservation, education, medical and other welfare work in the communities that we visit.
To date we have supported four projects:
Cottars Wildlife Conservation Trust: The Life Unlimited Foundation is supporting the CWCT funded primary school which provides access to education for Maasai children within a 10-mile radius and teaches the Kenyan National Educational Curriculum complimented by three awareness programmes - wildlife conservation, health, and hygiene and safety.
The Northern Rangelands Trust: This umbrella organization is a home-grown institution aimed at addressing home-grown problems and creating long-lasting local solutions. It connects these different interest groups with a goal of collectively developing strong community-led institutions as a foundation for investment in community development and wildlife conservation.
The Lake Naivasha Conservancy Project: The Foundation supports the implementation of anti-snaring patrols, working with Kenya Wildlife to educate locals about the merits of wildlife conservation and sustainability.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: The Foundation has adopted a young elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi. Ishanga was rescued from Tsavo West National Park, orphaned when barely a year old when poachers killed her mother.
We offer an agency sales commission on each Experience sold through commercial agents of 15% of the selling price. However, of that 15% sum only 12.5% is payable to the agent directly; the balance of 2.5% is transferred into the Foundation and is attributable as a donation from the agent and acknowledged on the Foundation’s website.
We estimate that by the end of 2012 The Foundation will have received at least £50,000 ($78,500) in donations and commissions. For more information please go to the Life Unlimited Foundation page.
